Pontus Jansson was a real fan favourite when he was at Leeds, and although he’s swapped Yorkshire for London he still has a lot of fond memories of his time at Elland Road. This week we got to see a candid interview with the Swedish centre-back as he featured on The Sun’s Twitter page giving a retrospective view of his career so far.It was a rather standard interview where he was asked about his best goal, best game and other similar questions, but one very interesting answer he gave was when he was asked who his favourite teammate is.
The 29-year-old chose one of his defensive partners at Leeds as his favourite teammate.
Indeed, he states that Gaetano Berardi was a father figure to the giant Swede.
“I would say Gaetano Berardi at Leeds. He was like a fatherly figure to me, even though he was only two years older than me,” he stated.
Jansson went onto praise the Swiss defender for always taking care of him in the tough moments, and that is a good trait for a player to have, especially in a Marcelo Bielsa team where a lot of young players are regularly introduced to the first team.
In other news, Leeds have one viable option to fix a huge problem position.
