Manchester City are reportedly in a race with Liverpool to sign Salford City prodigy Will Wright.

The Daily Mail states Liverpool have already made an offer for the 17-year-old and City are poised to bid more than £100,000, plus add-ons, for his services. The report adds that Arsenal, Brentford, Leicester City, and Burnley are keeping tabs on the young striker as well.

Wright, who scored more than 50 goals at all levels for Salford last season, is reportedly keen on a move to Liverpool – which will leave co-owners and Manchester United legends Gary Neville and David Beckham with a big decision to make this summer.

Wright was spotted playing for local teams Euxton Villa and Fylde just two years ago but made his Salford debut against City in the FA Cup in January. The youngster is currently in the second year of his scholarship at the League Two team.
